What our Customers
are Saying

This stuff is a lot bigger than anything I’ve seen. Idk how they make this stuff but dang its big, I got the bag in no time and couldn’t be happier. Their was barely any dust (which is common in the other types of Perlite I’ve purchased), they didn’t have a very fancy bag but they packaged it good to where the product wasn’t damaged. This stuff works great for hydroponics 100% will use this again.

– John

This stuff is truly huge and works great when mixed with bark and charcoal for orchid media.

It will provide great drainage. Bigger than I thought it would be.

– Candelaria

Like this a lot! Was happy to find this perlite and that this has large chunky pieces.

– Nic

Great size chunks. Perfect! Exactly what I wanted.

Don’t need to soak product. Good for potting orchids.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Does perlite fertilze plants?

Perlite is chemically inert, PH neutral volcanic glass containing no nutritive value to a plant. Water and nutrients are attracted to the perlite in which it is somewhat stored.

How do I clean perlite for reuse?

Remove root balls shaking gently and media will fall away. Remove all visible organic matter (mostly roots) and rinse the perlite until the runoff measures less than 150 ppm. If you need to sterilize the used perlite, just soak it in a 10% bleach solution. After 20 minutes of soaking, rinse thoroughly.

What size of perlite works best in hydroponics?

For hydroponics, our larger grade perlite (size #3 or #4) work great. #3 perlite drains slower and holds more water with more capillary action. Size #4 has faster drainage providing more oxygen to root systems.

Is perlite dust dangerous to one’s health?

Perlite dust is a nuisance dust and does not cause disease. For more info: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4002636/
